American Family Children’s Hospital, Madison

American Family Children’s Hospital is a non-profit care provider that is part of the UW Hospital and Clinics located in Madison, Wisconsin.  They have cared for children from 49 out of 50 states and from every county in Wisconsin.  Their world-renowned care from physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff has a strong focus on both patient and family.  It is these specialists that provide advanced care to ensure that every child receives the best possible care while still being close to family and friends.     

Grant dollars from Tomorrow’s Hope were used towards the purchase of a Video Headlight that allows staff involved in a surgery to observe the surgeon’s viewpoint.  This technology allows members of the surgical team the ability to view the surgery on monitors throughout the Operating Room instead of having to crowd over the patient. Most importantly, it keeps the surgical team aware and involved in the procedure which has been shown to improve their responses and decrease complications resulting in shorter surgical time, shorter recovery, and shorter hospitalization.
